PLANS CONFIRMED FOR 2018...

MEETINGS

Fairfield Writers will continue to host meetings on the second and fourth Saturday of each month, commencing at 9:30 am. Exercise meetings will be held in the Fairfield Library. Novel and short story group meetings will be held at Brisbane Rugby League Referees Club in Brougham St, Fairfield.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is capped at 14 and currently FW has a full compliment of members. A waiting list is kept by the Secretary. Those who have registered interest will be notified when a vacancy arises. To register interest, please email fwg@fairfieldwritersgroupqld.org.

ANTHOLOGY 2018

Fairfield Writers are thrilled to announce plans for a sixth Anthology, this time on the theme ''Romance''. A tentative launch date has been set for October 27.

LEARNING ABOUT THE WEB

The World Wide Web offers exciting opportunities for authors to promote themselves and their works, and to communicate with readers and other writers. Fairfield Writers will host a workshop on February 24 at Brisbane Rugby League Referees Club in Brougham St, Fairfield, commencing at 9:30 am (ahead of the usual novel and short story group meeting) for interested members who wish to learn more about website creation and maintenance and, in particular, wish to learn to assist with maintaining the Fairfield Writers website (fairfieldwritersgroupqld.org).

LEARNING ABOUT SCREEN WRITING

FW is planning another screen writing workshop in 2018. Meanwhile, Desley has kindly alerted members to an online course offered by FutureLearn. Go to https://www.futurelearn.com and search for ''An Introduction to Screenwriting''. Futurelearn courses are free and generally good quality.
